Former BearingPoint CEO Rand Blazer Joins Apex Executive Board

RICHMOND, VA- February, 2007- In what is being called the biggest internal hire made to date, Richmond-based Apex Systems, Inc., a technical staffing augmentation firm, has hired former BearingPoint CEO Rand Blazer to serve as their full-time Chief Operations Officer. Mr. Blazer has served as an Advisory Board member to Apex Systems for the past 18 months.

"We’re absolutely thrilled to have Rand aboard to help lead this company. Considering the kind of growth we’ve seen over the past few years, last year especially, we realized we could benefit greatly from having a person in-house who’s had the experience of growing and maintaining a company this size. Rand’s experiences at BearingPoint and SAP certainly qualify him," Brian Callaghan, Apex’s CEO and co-founder, said.

With a new COO on the roster, the previous holder of that title, co-founder Win Sheridan, will transition to a Co-CEO role along with Brian Callaghan. Jeff Veatch, formerly the company’s president, will also move to the Co-CEO role, leaving the firm’s three original founders operating under the same title for the first time since the organization started.

"As COO, Rand will run the day-to-day operations of the company, which will leave us with the ability to oversee all areas of the organization, something we’ve wanted to be able to do for a while," explained Sheridan. "We want to become involved in every process of our company, and having Rand on board will allow us to do that."

Apex Systems, Inc. is a technical staffing firm specializing in temporary, contract-to-hire, and direct hire placements.
